The government today said, there is no specific proposal to provide food subsidy directly to the consumers as part of measures to control rising food prices. <br/><br/>Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Minister Sharad Pawar said this in the Lok Sabha during the Question Hour today. <br/><br/>But, he said, there is a substantial provision of subsidy in targeted PublicDistribution System at every level.
