The government says there is no shortage of power in the country. Power Minister Piyush Goyal said in New Delhi that the country has surplus power of two thousand mega watt. Mr. Goyal asked States facing power crisis to purchase power from power exchange. The Minister said, India has set an ambitious target of achieving 175 gigawatt of renewable energy generation capacity. <br/><br/>Releasing the report of Technical Committee on Large Scale Integration of Renewable Energy, Mr Goyal said the report has put forth a 15 point action plan for facilitating large scale integration of renewables in a secure and reliable manner.<br/><br/> Mr. Goyal said, this is going to be a game changer and will set up benchmarks which is un-parallel in the world. The initiative is environment friendly and help fulfilling commitment to green and clean environment. He said, it would reduce the carbon footprint. <br/><br/>Taking about the grid management, Mr. Goyal said, his team will take up 'one nation, one grid, one price 24X7' on mission mode. The Minister also said, India will provide technical support for strengthening of grid systems of the neighbouring SAARC countries and under-developed countries in other part of the world free of cost.
