No shortage of drugs Bedaquiline and Delamanid in the country, says govt

<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre on Tuesday said there is no shortage of drugs Bedaquiline and Delamanid in the country. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar said under National TB Elimination Programme, all the drugs are provided free of cost. <br />''<br />''She said Delamanid has been procured at the rate of 140 rupees per tablet as against the global price of almost 190 rupees per tablet. The pediatric formulation of Bedaquiline has been made available to the States. However, the pediatric formulation for Delamanid is not approved for use in India. Dr. Pawar claimed that there is no short supply of diagnostic kits required to detect Rifampicin-resistant Tuberculosis in the country.</span><br />
