No shortage of coal, will ensure there is adequate supply of coal to power plants: Govt

<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;"><span style="font-size: 12.8px;">Government today said there is no shortage of coal and will ensure that there is adequate supply of coal to power plants.<br />''<br />'' Launching the Coal Mine Surveillance and Management System and Mobile App "Khan Prahari"  in New Delhi, Coal Minister Piyush Goyal said, Coal India has dispatched over 122 million tonne of coal to the Power Sector alone. <br />''<br />''He said, in the same period last year, around 106 million tonne of coal was dispatched to power sector. The Minister said, in the first quarter for the current financial year, Coal India has produced over 136 million tonne of coal, which is a growth of 15.2 per cent over the corresponding quarter, last year.</span></div>''<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;"></div>''<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">The Ministry said, "Khan Prahari"  App will not only detect the illegal coal activity but will also provide information on land reclamation that is carried out. Mr Goyal said, now, every citizen will have a right and an opportunity to share with government, any instances of illegal mining.</div>
