No rolling back of economic decisions: PM

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today said that the UPA Government would do whatever was necessary and good for the country. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the swearing in ceremony of the new Chief Justice of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today, Dr. Singh said elections were not a near possibility and the country was far away from the polls. He said economic reforms were not a once for all-time process. The Prime Minister also ruled out a roll back of the decisions.

Replying to a query on the opposition to economic reforms, the Prime Minister said it was a matter which could be discussed. He also said FDI had nothing to do with the US and India was not a country to be dictated by any other country. The Prime Minister also welcomed Supreme Court's clarification on the Presidential reference on allocation of natural resources.
