No rolling back of economic decisions: PM

The Prime Minister has defended the economic reform process saying it will continue. Dr.Manmohan Singh said reforms are not once-for-all process and government will do everything possible in the interest of the nation.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning, Dr.Manmohan Singh dismissed any rollback of decisions. On the reservation of some of the UPA allies that it could hurt the electoral prospects , he said it is a matter that can be discussed and elections are far away. On Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's allegation that the FDI in Retail was aimed at pleasing the US, the Prime Minister said India is not a country to be dictated by others. What has the US got to do with this, he asked.

The Prime Minister welcomed the recent Supreme Court opinion on Presidential Reference, which clarified that auctions are not the only way to allocate natural resources.

On Trinamool Congress withdrawing from UPA, Dr.Singh said that he is not bitter about anything.
