No respite to Delhi from spell of chill and dense fog

Delhiites did not get any respite from the spell of chill and dense fog on New Year eve. The minimum temperature remained below normal level. 25 flights were delayed today. The minimum temperature was recorded at 6.8 degrees Celsius, not much better than yesterday's 6.6 degrees. However, the maximum temperature was recorded at 23.3 degree Celsius, two degrees higher than yesterday's. Met officials say , while dense fog is likely to persist on New Year morning tomorrow, the temperatures are expected to rise slightly up to nine degrees Celsius. The weatherman has predicted a partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundery development for the next 24 hours.
