There is no respite in sight for Delhiites from the thick smog for the next two days. <br/><br/>A thick blanket of smoke and fog has engulfed the national capital region choking people specially school children, aged persons and those with respiratory problems.<br/><br/> Commuters are also facing difficulty while traveling in the city. Sun remained behind the thick smog throughout the day even as temperature dipped marginally.<br/><br/>Speaking to AIR, MeT official Ravinder Vishen said, the situation is likely to improve from Monday and it will again worsen from Thursday.<br/><br/>Nearly 17 thousand schools run by the municipal corporations of Delhi remained closed today in view of the heavy smog.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sought Centre's intervention to mitigate the alarming levels of smog. He said, the pollution is mainly due to farm fires in neighbouring Punjab and Haryana.
