People in most parts of Himachal Pradesh got no respite from biting cold wave conditions as the mercury dropped further in mid and lower hill areas.Places in lower hills recorded minimum temperature two to three degrees below normal, barring state capital Shimla where mercury registered a rise of 1.5 degree Celsius in minimum temperature. Keylong, Kalpa in Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts recorded a low of minus 5.7 and 0 degrees respectively while Dharamsala, Palampur and Una shivered under piercing cold wave with minimum temperature at 4.7, 4.5 and 3.0 degree Celsius. Thick ground frost occurred in higher hills and tribal areas while foggy conditions prevailed in Mandi, Kullu, Bhuntar, Bilaspur and Sundernagar along the riverbanks.
