Cold wave conditions have further intensified in the national capital with the minimum temperature on Tuesday plummeting to season's lowest to settle at 3.7 degree Celsius. It was three degrees below normal. Chilly winds blowing across the city have only added to the woes of the people. The day temperature is also hovering six degrees below normal at 14 degrees. Although there was shallow fog in the morning hours, absence of dense fog has avoided disruptions in road, rail and air traffic. The city will continue to reel under the biting cold as the Met department predicts a further fall in mercury. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 14 and four degree Celsius. A thin layer of fog is likely to engulf the capital tomorrow morning with a cool breeze to maintain the cold conditions.
