The Defence Minister, Mr. A.K. Antony has clarified that there will be no reduction in troops in Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to media persons on board the INS Deepak, he said that the Army has been posted according to the need at the Line of Control and in the State. He, however, said that a number of other paramilitary forces will be reduced as per the government decision. In reply to a query on various Army land scams in country the Defence Minister said, the entire Army land record is being computrised. He also said that the system of granting ‘No Objection Certificate’ for the sale of defence land is also being reviewed.
