No question of dilution on women Reservation Bill: Moily

The government has said that there is no question of any dilution in the Women's Reservation Bill which provides for 33 percent of reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. Speaking exclusively to AIR, the Law Minister Mr. Veerappa Moily said, the process of consultations does not mean that the government is conceding to the demand of some of the MPs for diluting the 33 percent quota. <br/>He said that the UPA and the Congress party is fully committed to the Women's Reservation Bill in the form it has been passed in the Rajya Sabha. <br/>The Women's Reservation Bill which was passed with overwhelming majority in the Rajya Sabha could not be introduced in the Lok Sabha because of stiff opposition by the RJD, SP and some of the JDU members. <br/>The government has said that it will complete the process of consultations with those concerned before the introduction of the Bill in the lower house. <br/>
