No question of Chidambaram’s resignation: Khurshid

Government today said that there is no question of Home Minister P Chidambaram’s resignation on 2G-spectrum allocation issue.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Law Minister Salman Khurshid today said that Trial Court order has not passed any order against Home Minister P Chidambaram.

He added that today’s order is just a procedural step. Criticizing the BJP for demanding Chidambaram's resignation, Mr. Khurshid said that they should first study the order properly.

Talking to reporters, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas R P N Singh accused the opposition for deliberately stalling the proceedings of Parliament when government is initiating a debate on Price rise.

Accusing the BJP of dual speak, he said that they are not willing to discuss the issue of common man.

The Public Accounts Committee Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi today demanded immediate resignation of Home Minister P Chidambaram in the 2G spectrum allocation scam issue.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr. Joshi said that Mr. Chidambaram’s role should be thoroughly investigated. He said that Chidambaram can misuse his office to influence the investigation in the matter.

NDA Convenor Sharad Yadav said that they will continue to boycott the Home Minister in Parliament.

Meanwhile CPI leader Gurudas Das Gupta said that Parliament should be allowed to function to enable discussions on important issues like price rise and black money.
