Government has clarified that the Beti-Bachao-Beti-Padhao Scheme has no provision for individual cash transfer component as it is not a Direct Benefit Transfer scheme.<br/><br/>The scheme focuses on challenging mindsets and deep rooted patriarchy in the societal system, strict enforcement of PC&PNDT Act, advancing education of the girl child and women empowerment.<br/><br/>The clarification came in the wake of reports that certain unauthorized websites, organizations and NGOs in UP, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal are distributing illegal forms in the name of cash incentive under the scheme.<br/><br/>Women and Child Development Ministry has also taken up this matter with the state government authorities. The warning has been broadcast by the Ministry on print media as well as electronic media.<br/><br/>The Ministry has advised that no personal details should be shared in this regard and no one should subscribe to such fraudulent schemes. The general public has also been advised not to fall prey to such fraudulent schemes.
