Government on Friday said it has no proposal under consideration currently to enact a separate law to regulate digital media in the country. This was informed by Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. He said the Central Government has made the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 to make internet open, safe and trusted and accountable and to regulate the intermediaries including social media intermediaries.<br />
