Centre has clarified that the Ministry of Women and Child Development has not given any approval regarding serving of eggs in the school canteens. <br/><br/>The Ministry clarification came in the wake of certain newspaper item, which stated that the Ministry has approved the proposal to serve eggs in the school canteens. <br/><br/>The news item also quotes from the Report of the Committee constituted by the Ministry to look into the issues related to obesity in children due to excessive consumption of junk food. <br/><br/>The Ministry said, the Committee constituted on children obesity has not recommended eggs as one of the food items to be served in school canteens.
