The government today said that there is no proposal to include Anganwadi workers under Employees' State Insurance facilities. Giving this information in the Lok Sabha in a written reply, Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya said Anganwadi workers are provided with social security cover through Anganwadi Karyakarti Bima Yojna operated through the Social Security Group Scheme of LIC. He said that these workers are also entitled to various social security schemes of the government run for unorganized workers.
