<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre today said there is no proposal to completely ban tobacco products. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Mrs Anupriya Patel said food products containing tobacco or nicotine like Gutkha are already banned under the Food Safety Regulations issued under the Food Safety and Standards Act. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">She, however, said under Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003,  there is prohibition on smoking in public places, ban on sale of cigarettes or any other tobacco product to and by persons below the age of eighteen years. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">She further said promotion, advertisement of cigarettes or any other tobacco products and sale of cigarettes or any other tobacco product within 100 yards of eudcational institutions are also banned. </span>
