<span style="color: #222222;">The Government has said that there is no proposal to amend the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 as of now. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Planning, Rao Inderjit Singh said the number of pending cases before the National Company Law Tribunal, NCLT has been reduced. It was 13,512 on the 31st of December 2020, 13,211 on the 31st of December 2021, and 12,871 on the 31st of October this year. He said, to enable the NCLT to timely dispose of cases, the Government is taking all the necessary steps from time to time.<br />'' <br />''The Minister said, the Government had appointed 20 new members in NCLT last year, approved the appointment of 15 new members this year, and initiated the process for other vacancies.</span><br />
