No proposal of issuing separate Identity Cards for Sr Citizens: Govt

The Government on Monday said that there is no proposal of issuing separate Identity Cards for Senior Citizens in the country. <br/> <br/>Replying a question in the Lok Sabha the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Mr. Mukul Wasnik said that according to Census 2001, there were 7.7 crore senior citizens were in the country and government has initiated several programmes to provide better facilities to the senior citizens. <br/> <br/>He said that the government is providing old age pension to one crore sixty three lakhs senior citizens in the country. He expected that the population of the senior citizens will increase to 21 percent by 2050.<br/>
