No proof of Pak plotting terror in India: Centre

The government on Tuesday said that there are reports to indicate that Pakistan based Jehadi group are making concerted efforts to organise terror attacks in western coastal areas of the country. In a written reply in Lok Sabha on Tuesday the Minister of State for Home Mullah Palli Ramchandran said that there are however no specific inputs to suggest that Pak based terror groups are planning to set up a base in coastal areas of the country. He said that the report suggest that these terror groups want to target iconic institutions, important industrial installations and tourists locations. He said there are reports that these terror groups are infiltrating and circulating fake Indian currency notes in India. He assured the House that the government has been reviewing the security arrangements on continuous basis in view of these challenges. While outlining these steps he said that Indian navy has been designated as the authority responsible for overall maritime security. The scheme to set up 73 coastal police stations in 13 coastal states and union territories has been speeded up and till last month 56 boards had been supplied for this purpose. In reply to another question the government said that there are also reports of misuse of internet and E-mails by terrorists and the government has taken measures to increase the security of computer network in the country.<br/><br/>The Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee today presented a statement in Lok Sabha on the supplementary demand for grant for 2009-10 to the tune of 30942.62 crore rupees .<br/><br/> <br/>
