After delegations from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, the Ministers of Nagaland met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Home, R Ashoka in Bangalore today. Nagaland's Power Minister Doshe Y Sema and Parliamentary Secretary and incharge of Social Welfare, Chotisuh Sazo spoke to Mr.Ashoka regarding measures taken to secure the welfare of people from their state.
Later speaking to the media persons, Mr. Ashoka said that the situation was under control and the people from North-east faced no problems in the city or in the state. He added that elaborate security measures were in place for celebrating Eid in the state.
City Police Commissioner Jyoti Prakash Mirji informed that 17,000 police personnel are being deployed for peaceful observance of Eid festival and to provide adequate security to north-eastern people in the city.
Three companies each of CRPF and RAF, 25 Karnataka State Reserve Police platoons and 35 CAR platoons, 1,500 trainee policemen and 600 home guards are also being deployed. He further said that plainclothes policemen will be deployed with cameras to capture any untoward incidents on camera and apprehend the culprits indulging in anti-social activities.
Speaking to media persons in Bangalore, BJP's Senior leader Venkaiah Naidu appreciated Karnataka government for acting promptly to defuse the situation and ensure safety for the North-East people. He noted that the migration of youth belonging to the seven states from North East was reduced within three days by the government.
