No privatisation of AIIMS: Azad

The government today reiterated that there will be no privatisation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS.<br/><br/>This was stated by the Union Health Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad while addressing the AIIMS Institute Body meeting held in New Delhi. He said that the pressure on the premier institute will be reduced with the advent of new AIIMS like institutes and strengthening of public health system. <br/><br/>He said that for improvement of AIIMS certain futuristic recommendations of the Valiathan Committee will be taken up step by step without diluting the basic character of the institute.<br/><br/>He assured that the character and organisation of AIIMS in the field of research, education and patient care will be maintained. <br/><br/>A detailed presentation was also made on the development and expansion plan of AIIMS in the meeting.
