Government has no plans to allow Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail trade as of now. Home Minister Rajnath Singh said this while addressing the Vyapari Sammelan in New Delhi, today.Calling upon opposition parties, Mr Singh urged them to help the government in passing of Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill in this monsoon session itself. He termed the GST bill as the need of the hour.He assured the retail traders that his government will protect them from adverse affects of Globalization, Liberalization and Modernization. Mr Singh said India will be a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2020 and traders have a big role to play.
