The government today said it has no plan to issue 5 thousand and 10 thousand rupees banknotes. In a written reply to question in the Lok Sabha,Minister of State for Finance Arjun Ram Meghwal said, the matter was examined in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India and it has not been found suitable to introduce such banknotes.The government had recently introduced 2 thousand rupee note along with a new 500 rupee note following the demonetisation which scrapped 86 percent of the currency in circulation on 8th of November last year.
