Government today said it is not considering extending the deadline of 30th December for depositing of invalid 500 and 1,000 rupee notes.<br/><br/> Minister of State for Finance Arjun Ram Meghwal said this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. He said, there is sufficient cash available with RBI and other banks.<br/><br/> Mr Meghwal said, circulation of 100 rupee notes has already been increased. The Minister added that to cater to the requirements of rural areas, banks have been asked to supply notes of smaller denominations of 100 rupees and below.
