Government has informed the Lok Sabha that there is no provision under the Bharat Nirman Scheme or the Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana to connect tribal villages having a population of less than 250 people.

Rural Development minister Jairam Ramesh said only unconnected habitations having a population of 1,000 people and above are eligible under the scheme.
