Union Ministry of Water Resources today informed the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that it has not granted permission for Art of Living Foundation's 'World Cultural Festival' slated to start in Delhi on Friday. <br/><br/>In its hearing over the three-day event to be hosted on the Yamuna flood plains, the Green Panel, however, pulled up the Environment and Forests Ministry for not filing affidavit regarding environment clearances.<br/><br/>Yesterday, a bench, headed by NGT chairperson Justice Swantanter Kumar, had asked the Environment Ministry to file an affidavit today and tell why no environmental clearance is needed for raising temporary structures.<br/><br/>The bench is hearing pleas seeking stoppage of ongoing construction on the flood plains for the event. It asked today the Central and Delhi government apart from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) if any environment impact assessment was done regarding the event.
