No negotiations without halting settlement: Nabil

Palestinians have clarified that meeting of President Mahmoud Abbas with Israeli officials does not mean that they are negotiating. Palestinian President’s spokesman Nabil Abu Rdineh said in Ramallah that Palestinian position is the same and there will be no negotiations without halting the settlement. Palestinians have been demanding a halt to Israeli settlement construction in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as a condition for resuming talks with Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has ignored this demand so far. <br/>Mr Nabil said the Israeli-Palestinian peace process is still crippled despite a U.S.-sponsored summit between leaders of the two sides. Abbas met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on twenty-second of this month in a three-party summit chaired by U.S. President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. It was the first time that Abbas met Netanyahu since the Israeli leader took office in April this year. <br/>
