The BJP has said that there is no need to send the Insurance Bill to the select committee, as it has already gone through the standing committee.Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi alleged that the Congress is not against the Bill but its opposition stems from its failure to get the post of the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. BSP chief Mayawti said that before tabling the Insurance Bill in Parliament the government should build a consensus among all stakeholders.She told reporters that if consensus is arrived,there is no need to send the Bill to the select committee. Meanwhile the Congress has said that the BJP stalled the Insurance Bill for six years when it was in the Opposition. Party leader Rajiv Shukla said that the bill should be sent to the select committee and not passed in a hurry.
