Congress party Saturday made it clear that the party has not finalized so far any name for the post of President. Mr. Janardan Dwivedi, head of the Congress media department and General Secretary, volunteered a brief statement in New Delhi and said the process of discussions with allies and others are, on. Senior Congress leader and Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee himself said in Kolkata that no one can become President on his own wish and the Congress will decide on it.

It is believed that the Congress leadership discussed Mr. Mukherjee's name with its allies such as DMK, RLD and NCP. Our correspondent reports, yesterday,Congress President Sonia Gandhi's Political Secretary Ahmed Patel met Mr. Mukherjee in his office after the meeting of the party Core Group.
