Indian boxers will return without a medal from the World Championships for the first time in four years. At Almaty Kazakhstan, yesterday,none of the five Indian quarterfinalists managed to make the semifinal of the biennial mega-event. Fourth seed Shiva Thapa (56kg), sixth seed Manoj Kumar (64kg), Vikash Malik (60kg) and Sumit Sangwan (81kg) lost their quarterfinal bouts. Another boxer Satish Kumar (+91kg) was declared medically unfit to fight after sustaining a cut above his right eye on Tuesday in the pre-quarters. After the disappointing show in this edition India's all-time medal tally at the World Championships remains just two. Vijender Singh (75kg) opened India's account in 2009 with abronze medal. The second medal came in the very next edition in Azerbaijan, when Vikas Krishan (69kg) grabbed a bronze.
