In Bihar, there is no let up in flood situation. According to Central Water Commission, Kosi, Bagmati and Gandak rivers are flowing above danger mark at many places. AIR Patna correspondent reports that surging water of these rivers has inundated new areas in West Champaran, Muzaffarpur , Sitamarhi and Sheohar districts of the state. Five people drowned in the flood related incidents during the last 24 hours. Flood affected people are shifting to safer places. Flash floods in several rivers originating in Nepal have washed away many deer and fawns from Manguraha Forest Range of Valmiki Nagar Tiger Project in West Champaran. Forest officials have been instructed to ensure safety of animals. Rail and vehicular traffic have been paralysed as railway tracks and roads have been submerged in many place. In Uttar Pradesh, the flood situation remains grim in various parts of the state as all the major rivers, Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaghra and Rapti continued their rising trend. The river Ramganga in Moradabad is flowing above the danger mark but its level has become constant. The rain has again started lashing eastern UP after a gap of two days. The state irrigation and PWD minister Nasimuddin Siddiqui has said that there is no dearth of funds for relief measure and the government is making all out effort to provide relief to flood affected people. AIR correspondent reports that the relief teams are finding it difficult to reach the affected areas as several link roads have been washed away by the raging rivers.
