Allaying fears of shortage of platelets in hospitals amidst rising cases of dengue in the national capital, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare on Monday said that there is no lack of blood in the blood banks. Talking to reporters after a function in New Delhi he said that all arrangements will be made to have required platelets from different blood banks and no patient will be denied treatment. With 69 fresh cases of dengue reported yesterday the total number confirmed dengue cases have gone up to 1295. Three people have died due to dengue so far. Good monsoon rain and heavy construction activity for the common wealth games have led to an upsurge in dengue cases with construction sites providing a favourable breeding ground for mosquitoes.
