There will be no interview for junior-level posts in central government canteens. Department of Personnel and Training in an order said the recruitment to these posts will be made purely on the basis of written test or skill test by the concerned Ministries taking into consideration job requirement for specific post. There are about 1,352 registered canteens and tiffin rooms functioning in various central government offices across the country.<br/><br/>In his Independence Day address last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had stressed on the need for bringing an end to the practice of holding interviews for Group III and IV jobs where personality assessment is not an absolutely necessary requirement. He had said it will help curb corruption in recruitment.
