No intention to retire from politics, says Lankan Prez

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena says he has no intention to retire from politics and would make a massive transformation in the country's development after December. Addressing a function in Polonnaruwa last evening, President Sirisena said he is in good health and would not retire. He said he will continue his agenda for the country.
''
'' He said his aim is to produce a disciplined generation of children in a decent country. The comments assume significance as Presidential elections in the country are scheduled for November 16. Mr Sirisena has not sought re-election so far.
''
'' The President's Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) is to meet tomorrow to devise its election strategy and which side to support in the elections. The main contenders are Sajith Premadasa of United National Party led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Gotabaya Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka People's party headed by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
''
