No Indian on board Malaysia airliner that crashed in Ukraine: Govt

Government today said that no Indian was on board the ill-fated Malaysian plane which crashed yesterday in Ukraine. Ministry of Civil Aviation today clarified that there was no Air India flight near the Malaysian plane when it crashed.

Meanwhile, Air India and Jet Airways flights have been diverted from Ukraine's conflict zone.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the Malaysian plane crash.

In a tweet, he said, in this hour of grief, India stands with the families of those who lost their lives on board Flight MH17.
