Union Minister of State of Petroleum and Natural gas, Dharmendra Pradhan today said that the price of domestic LPG cylinders will not be increased. He also said that susidised refills given to consumers would continue. The Minister was speaking to media persons after his arrival in Patna today to take part in a party function.
He said, there is a need to increase oil and gas production in the country and the policy should be such that neither the government, nor the farmers and poor should feel burdened.
He also expressed concerns over the low LPG penetration in Bihar, which is 26 percent as compared to 45 to 50 percent in other states. Mr Pradahan will also hold discussion today with Indian Oil Corporation officials on ongoing projects and the oil and gas situation in Bihar.
