No heavy rain for next few days in Tamil Nadu, says Met office

In Tamil Nadu there was only isolated rain in southern districts as the upper air circulation has moved over Maldives. There was sunshine in most parts of the state to the relief of people. Met office has forecast no heavy rain for the next few days in Tamil Nadu.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, Tamil Nadu badly affected by North east monsoon rain is slowly limping back to normalcy as there was welcome sunshine today. Schools and colleges which were closed for almost a month in Chennai Tiruvallur Kanchipuarm and Cuddalore will be reopened tomorrow. <br/><br/>There is a sigh of relief in the southern districts as there are no signs of heavy rain. Thoothukudi district collector Ravikumar has said that there is no flood alert in the district. Now 23,000 cusecs of water is flowing into Sri Vaikuntam Dam and only if the inflow increases to 50,000 cusecs there will be flooding of Thamaraparani river. <br/><br/>In Thootthukudi three NDRF teams and army teams are still deployed to face any emergency. In Nagapattinam, more than 70,000 hectares of paddy fields were affected as rain water submerged them. Water is being slowly drained out as there is no fresh rain in the delta region.
