The Election Commission of India has decided not to take any further action on the matter of violation of the Model Code of Conduct by Union Law Minister, Salman Khurshid.

In a press release, the Commission said, it took note of the fact that Mr. Khurshid has regretted the statement made by him during the course of the election campaign in Uttar Pradesh after the Commission censured him.
The Commission reviewed the matter in the light of the letter-received yestersday from Mr. Khurshid.

The Commission also advised all the contending political parties and poll officials to be extremely careful during campaigning to avoid recurrence of any such situation in future.
