In Uttar Pradesh, there has been no curfew relaxation in the four police station areas of Baradari, Prem Nagar, Kotwali and Quila in Bareilly city. No fresh incident of violence was reported from curfew hit areas today. Curfew was imposed last night after incidents of firing, stone pelting and arson between two rival groups. Two groups clashed each other over a Janmashtami procession in the Baradari area. To control situation and maintain law and order curfew was imposed. Police raids are continuing in different parts of the town to nab the miscreants and people involved in the violence. Injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where the condition of some of them was stated to be serious. Security forces including central Para military forces have been deployed at all sensitive areas and police patrolling intensified.

Quoting police sources our Allahabad correspondent reports that about 20 people including police men and press photographers were injured in the clashes. About 30 people have been detained for their alleged involvement in violence.
