The alliance between the two ideologically different parties, is seeming unlikely so far after the PDP won 28 seats during the recently held state elections with the BJP gaining its ground in Jammu in 25 assembly segments. But there is no denying the fact that leaders of various political parties are holding back channel talks to bring an end to this political stalemate.
Rejecting the reports of any final agreement held with BJP, Peoples Democratic Party PDP has said that no serious deliberations have so far taken place for the formation of the new government in Jammu and Kashmir. According to PDP chief spokesman Naeem Akhtar the party is in no formal talks with the BJP at present, though there have been the ‘informal’ contacts taking place between all the political parties.
However, the PDP chief spokesman added that efforts are on for the formation of the stable government in Jammu and Kashmir. AIR Corespondent reports that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has intensified intra-party consultations over possible alliances for Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the other hand BJP has ruled out re-elections and imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir. The party has expressed the hope that some development about the formation of Government will take place shortly.
