No firm blacklisted for misconduct in defence deal during last 3 years: Govt

The government said that no firm has been blacklisted for misconduct or wrongdoing in defence deals during the last three years. Informing this to the Lok Sabha, Defence minister Manohar Parrikar said, however, six firms have been debarred from further business dealings with ministry of defence for a period of ten years.<br/><br/>He said defence ministry has recently issued guidelines for penalties in business dealings with entities which have come into effect from 21st November last. The minister also said, other steps are being taken to ensure transparency, accountability and probity in defence procurements.<br/><br/>Mr Parrikar said the defence procurement procedure (DPP) 2016 envisages signing of an integrity pact between government and the bidders for all capital procurement of 20 crore rupeess and above. The earlier provision required signing of such pact only for cases involving 100 crore rupees and above.
