The government has not taken a final view on the dilution of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) now in force in Jammu and Kashmir.

Giving this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Jitendra Singh said, decision on matters affecting security are taken after evaluation of the situation on the ground and detailed consultations among the Centre, State Governments concerned and the Security forces.
