Information and Broadcasting Ministry has advised cable subscribers in Phase III urban areas to obtain Set Top Boxes immediately. Subscribers without set top boxes will not be able to watch TV services through Cable TV Networks after 31st January this year. <br/><br/>In a statement, the Ministry said no extension will be granted beyond 31st of this month to switch off analog signals in Phase III urban areas. Chief Secretaries of all States and Union Territories have been requested to ensure that the Authorized Officer get acquainted with their powers and specified rules to enforce them against defaulters if they continue to carry analog signal in Phase III urban areas after the stipulated time. <br/><br/>The Ministry has issued instructions to all the broadcasters, multi system operators and local cable operators to ensure that no analog signals are transmitted over the cable networks in Phase III urban areas after 31st of this month.
