No exchange of sweets between BSF, Pak Rangers on Independence Days

In the back drop of recent terror attack in Punjab, Border Security Force (BSF) has decided not to exchange sweets with its counterpart, Pakistan Rangers, on the occasion of the Independence Days of both the nations. It has been a tradition since long to exchange sweets at Attari-Wagah Joint Check Post on the occasion.<br/><br/>BSF Punjab Frontier Inspector General Anil Paliwal said the prevailing situation between the two countries has forced to take this decision.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that the continuous ceasefire violations and killing of two BSF personnel in Udhampur recently, have also added to BSF's stance on an early announcement in this regard.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, BSF has already stepped up vigil and increased its deployment along the border in view of high alert sounded in Punjab.
