The Government says there will not be any drastic increase in tax on the Hybrid vehicles soon to be introduced in India.Addressing the 4th Environmentally Friendly Vehicle conference today in New Delhi, Minister of Heavy industries and Public Enterprises Mr Vilasrao Deshmukh said that fuel efficiency regulations would be incorporated to maintain a check on emissions of carbon dioxide.He said that the environmental performance concerning the transport sector must be regulated on local basis. Environment and Forest minister, Mr Jairam Ramsh said by 2011, the government will have mandatory fuel effienciency regulations. He said that Hybrids and CNG type vehicles will bring a sea change change not only in trasport sector but also in infrastructure.
