Taking to reporters after the meeting, the minister of State for Defence, Mr. M. Pallam Raju said that consensus seemed to be emerging on the formation of the proposed state but now some parties have changed their stand.

He said that the Prime Minister made it clear that no decision will be taken in a haste.

Mr Singh evaded a reply when asked whether the core committee set up for the purpose will review the decision or not. But some MPs, who were part of the delegation said that the Prime Minister assured that he will take up the issue with the core committee as well.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Rosaiah had said yesterday that a resolution at a state assembly will be moved only if there is a consensus among all the parties. The
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is scheduled to hold meetings with the top party leadership to discuss the crisis.

Meanwhile, The proceedings of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly were disrupted today again as the House witnessed deep division among the MLAs cutting across the party lines over the separate State issue. The proceedings were marred when the Congress MLAs shouted slogans in favour of united Andhra Pradesh even as some members of the ruling party who support Telengana raised counter slogans paving the way for adjournment of the House for some time.

Trouble started immediately after the House assembled in the morning and the Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy sought opinion of the floor leaders whether to continue the proceedings of the House in the wake of 103 members tendered resignations in an unprecedented manner. When almost all parties opined that the proceedings should continue, the Congress members who tendered resignations entered the house raising slogans in favour of the the United Andhra Pradesh.

That provoked the MLAs of the same party belonging to Telengana region to raise the slogans disrupting the entire proceedings. The speaker adjourned the House for ten minutes.

Meanwhile, Telengana Rashtra Samithi chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao has been discharged from the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, this morning where he has been admitted for the past 10 days.

In Andhra Pradesh, the political crisis deepened with the number of MLAs across party lines who resigned in protest against the centre’s decision to carve out separate Telangana state has crossed 100. MLAs including 58 from the Congress, 29 from the Telugu Desam and 13 from the Praja Rajyam have submitted their resignations to Assembly speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy while over 30 MLCs too are preparing ground to follow the suit. However, Speaker said he would talk to each member personally before taking final decision on the resignations.

The state Cabinet could not arrive to a conclusion over the political crisis after its 2-hour long emergency meeting held last evening and decided to meet today again. However, a group of Ministers belong to Telangana said the cabinet has decided to abide by the Centre’s decision on the issue. The Ministers from Rayalaseema and Coastal areas have reportedly expressed their displeasure amidst heated arguments and raised tempers.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) appeared to have toughened its stand as it firmly stating that without Hyderabad formation of Telangana is not possible and of the opinion that the Centre’s response to their agitation for a separate State was a hard-won victory. TRS is demanding the introduction of a Bill in Parliament for separate Telangana at the earliest even as TRS President Chandrasekhara Rao has been invited to Delhi to chalk out further course of action.

Meanwhile, the activists of political parties and students from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema have called a bandh in Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra today in protest against the announcement made without taking them into confidence. Students of Andhra University in Visakhapatnam have called for 3-day bandh.

Home Minister P. Chidambaram said in Parliament that he had spoken to TRS Chief K.
