No decision has been taken on the oil prices in the Empowered Group of Ministers, EGOM that met in New Delhi this evening. The meeting was presided over by the Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Petroleum Minister, Mr. Murli Deora said that no decision had been taken on the oil price hike. Earlier, Kirith Pariekh Committee had recommended de-control of oil prices following huge under recovers of oil marketing companies. Another meeting to thrash out the issue is expected soon as some of the UPA constituents including the NCP and Trinamul Congress had voiced their opposition to the price hike.<br/>
