In Uttar Pradesh, the Bareilly district administration has announced that there will be no relaxation in curfew restriction in all four areas of Baradari, Prem Nagar, Qila and Kotwali police stations on the fourth consecutive day today. The district magistrate has said that a final decision to relax the curfew would be taken after estimating the situation. Our Allahabad correspondent reports that the Chairman of the Zila Panchayat and Bahujan Samaj Party leader Ms. Neeru Patel was arrested on Monday in apprehension of breach of peace but she was later released on a personal bond. A total of about 250 persons have been taken into custody for their alleged involvement in incidents of violence and violation of curfew till now. All schools and colleges, Banks and commercial establishments will remain closed in curfew hit areas. The administration has pressed mobile vans in service to provide medicines and other essentials for curfew hit areas. No fresh incident of violence was reported from the curfew hit areas. Curfew was clamped on August 11 after clashes between two rival groups over a Janmashtami procession leading to heavy brickbatting and firing. Four policemen have been suspended for their alleged dereliction of duties.
